League 2:Royal Challengers remain unbeaten (Week 5)

The Royal Challengers are the only remaining unbeaten side in League 2, following a crushing victory over the Gentlemen Players on Wednesday evening. There were also wins for Ellon, Chevron and Kings XI.

In their match at the Links against Chevron, BP batted first and reached 96 AO off 20 overs, with Omar (28) top scoring for BP. Pick of the bowlers for Chevron were A. Starling (2 for 8 off 4) and N. Thangaraj (2 for 10 off 4). In reply, Chevron reached 97 for 4 off 14 overs to record a 6 wicket victory, with Mark Herbert retiring on 30.

Grammar 98 batted first against the Kings XI at the Shed, fielding only 9 players on the night and were dismissed for 64 AO in the 19th over. Pick of the bowlers was Irfan Sayeed, with 5 wickets for only 9 runs in 4 overs. A Russell top scored for Grammar 98 with 20 runs. Nikhil and Pradeep also took a wicket each for Kings XI. In reply Kings XI comfortably reached their target, making 65-4 in the 11th over to record a 6 wicket victory. Irfan Sayeed top scored with 25 no and Balaji scored 23 runs.

The Royal Challengers posted a daunting total of 171-9 off 20 overs in their match against the Gentlemen Players of Rubislaw at the Links, with Suman (30 no), Ashok (29) and Arambabu (24) all contributing impressive knocks with the bat. For the Gentlemen, Khan and Tomkins were both among the wickets. In reply, the GPoR were reduced to 48 AO in the 10th over resulting in a massive 123 run victory for the Challengers, with Rajesh (3 for 7), Veeru (3 for 13) and Arambabu (2 for 8) all taking wickets.  

Ellon batted first against RGU Tomahawks at Countesswells and posted a massive total of 196 for 5 from 20 overs, with L. Borstlapp (35 no), R. Greenfield (32 no), G. Prosser (31 no) and Aman (30 no) doing the damage with the bat. In reply, the Tomahawks were reduced to 96 AO in the 17th over, with R. Wade (2 for 1 from 1.3 overs), C. Watson (2 for 9 from 2 overs) and G. Prosser (2 for 9 from 2 overs) the pick of the bowlers. Top scorer with the bat for the Tomahawks was Fraser (30 no).
