League 1: Dare Devils back to winning ways (Week 6)

The conditions for cricket were perfect......very warm and little wind.

The good weather had brought out all the locals into Duthie Park. The evening started with a confrontation and a bout of aggressive shouting between two teams. No side was giving an inch...it was the Military Fitness group teaching their disciples the art of tug of war (phew!!).

The Legends and DeC Rebels remain unbeaten after wins over ATSSC and the Knightriders respectively. The end of season match between the two teams still looking to be the critical game of the season. The Dare Devils recorded a comfortable win over Inn at the Park at DP3. Gordonians scratched against St Ronald. Caledonian originally scratched against Aberdeen University, however the match will now be recorded as void.

The Dare Devils won the toss and decided to bat against Inn at the Park on DP3. The Park made a good start, taking 4 wickets with only 30 on the board. However the middle order and tail more than wagged for the Dare Devils, taking the final score to 149 for 9 off 20 overs. Key contributions with the bat were from B. Gopinathan (25), P. Balial (26), R. Narula (17), Prakash (16) and C. Aggarwal (16). Pick of the bowlers for the Park was Amir (3 for 18 off 4 overs). In reply, the Dare Devils bowling attack proved too strong for the Park. There were contributions from Mudassar (14) and Wajahat (17), however the Park were restricted to 108-8, losing the match by 41 runs. Pick of the bowlers for the Dare Devils were R. Narula (2 for 19 off 4), Ajay (1 for 13 off 4) and Suraj (3 for 13 off 4).

The DeC Rebels remain at the top of the table following a 37 run victory over the Knightriders at the Shed. The Rebels batted first and posted a total of 131 AO from their 20 overs, with Sunny (31 no) and Naru (25 no) top scoring. Pick of the bowlers for the Knightriders was Mohan (3 for 21). In reply, the Knightriders were restricted to 94 AO, with Swapnil (6 for 12) doing the damage.

The Legends recorded a 56 run victory over ATSSC to keep the pressure on the DeC Rebels at the top of the table. The Legends batted first and posted a total of 161 for 5, with G. Gillanders (35 no) and G. Hadden (31 no) top scoring. Pick of the bowlers for ATSSC was Shafique (2 for 9). In reply, ATSSC fell short on 105 AO, with Roshan (29) and Shaker (28) top scoring. The wickets for the Legends were shared amongst C. Forbes (3 for 12), R. Balsillie (3 for 9) and G. Hadden (3 for 18).
