League 2: Royal Challengers remain unbeaten and secure titleMany congratulations to the Royal Challengers for remaining unbeaten throughout the season and winning the League 2 title in their first season in the AECL. The Royal Challengers finished the season in style with a 10 wicket victory over BP on DP2 in a rearranged match reduced to 15 overs per side. BP batted first and posted a target of 81 for 8 from 15 overs. In reply, the Challengers made 84 for 0 from 10 overs. The match on Monday evening between the Royal Challengers and MCC on DP1 was abandoned close to the end due to bad light. 1 point has been awarded to both teams. There were no other League 2 matches this week and the league table is now finalised. Only one match was scratched throughout the season, so a great effort by all teams to turn out each week! The new League 2 trophy will be presented to the Royal Challengers the next time they take to the field at Duthie Park (a few friendlies are proposed, so keep the AECL posted!!). Well done also to the Gentlemen Players for securing runners-up spot. We also hope Kings XI, RGU and BP (returning) enjoyed their first season in the AECL.
